This is something any social media manager or content creator has probably experienced. Every day, new tools hit the market, promising easy creation of Reels or TikToks. But what’s the reality? Often, they are overpriced subscription-based tools that come with templates where you just drag and drop your footage and voilà, your Reels are ready. But is this really what you want for your business? A video that looks just like every other creator’s video on Instagram? Maybe it’s time to try something a little different.
Today, we’re going to introduce the editing tools we use at EDU Effective, which are easy to use, deliver great results, and offer a lot of creative inspiration. Let’s dive in.
Sprout Social reports that short-form videos deliver the highest return on investment compared to other marketing trends. By 2025, they will receive more investment than any other format. So, how do you create a successful video (and no, we’re not talking about a viral one here)?
TIP! Does sharing the same post across different social media platforms work? We say yes. You can read more about it on our blog.
Let’s agree on one thing: Most social media users watch content with the sound off. There’s solid data backing this up. What does this mean for you? A video without subtitles won’t grab anyone’s attention today. So, before you start filming, it’s crucial to ask yourself three key questions:
If you hesitated at any of these questions, the right software might be the key to turning your content into a viral hit instead of a forgotten post. And here come the four tools we’re diving into today.

How do these four tools compare? At EDU Effective, we prefer each of them for different tasks. However, one of our favorites is definitely Veed.io, which, in its beta version, offers a way to cut promotional videos, such as podcasts – you upload the entire episode, and AI will pick out the best snippets with subtitles. And it’s amazing.
We most often use CapCut for editing more complex videos – typically for testimonials. The templates they offer are also noteworthy; you just upload your footage, and the video gets automatically edited within seconds. But be careful – not all templates are available in the free version.
META also introduced its own Reels editing app (EDITs), which is already giving the Chinese app CapCut some serious competition. The advantage? Viral voiceovers or songs are easily accessible through saved suggestions from your Instagram account. You can literally film and edit your video in just a few minutes.
Bonus? The app is currently completely free.
What about Captions? They’re great at both subtitles and AI editing. You can generate high-quality subtitles in several languages within seconds. However, compared to Veed.io, this is a relatively expensive option.
TIP! Videos with subtitles have 80% higher view rates. Up to 69% of users watch content without sound – especially in the office or on public transport.
Each platform has its rules. TikTok bets on speed, Instagram loves “visual hooks,” and LinkedIn is now pushing the video document format. And the software you choose determines:
Meta Insights statistic: Only 30% of your followers see your new post. But when you turn it into a video, your reach can increase by more than 2×. So whether you’re managing a brand or building your personal brand, automated editing frees up your time for strategy. And that’s where the magic happens.
